Optional Preferences

As with all Hidrofix products, the concentric vise offers customers flexible and customizable options. These include side or bottom port entries for perfect integration into the user’s system, air control port options, and most importantly, a clamping status sensor , which is critical for automation systems.

Port Entry Options

Standard vise configurations may not always perfectly align with a customer’s system. Traditional concentric vises typically feature dual ports—both side and bottom entries. Unused side ports are usually sealed with plugs, which may require dimensional adjustments on the vise itself. Since efficiency is key in automation, maximum space utilization in tight areas is essential. Customers can optionally request the removal of these ports during manufacturing.

Air Control Ports

Pneumatic verification of workpiece seating is a widely used method in industrial applications. While standard air ports on concentric vises are generally used for internal cleaning without disassembly, in automated environments, custom air control ports can be extended all the way to the jaw surface to verify proper part placement.

Clamping Status Confirmation System

In automated systems, electronic verification that the workpiece has been securely clamped is of critical importance. The concentric vise is equipped with an advanced system that can electronically report the clamping status via signal output. This system is not included in standard models and is fully optional and customizable.

Multi-Vise Systems

Customers can request integrated multi-vise systems based on their specific production requirements, combining 3 to 6 vises within a single housing .

Extended Jaw Stroke (Travel Distance)

For easier loading and unloading of workpieces, users can customize an extended jaw stroke distance beyond standard specifications.

Customers have the freedom to reinterpret existing standards and develop entirely new and innovative concentric vise models while maintaining core performance criteria such as precision and repeatability.
